Personal Bests!

The last cross-country meet of the season.  A co-ed 5K.
The boy got his personal best of 25:01 (Yay!)

A beautifully gorgeous day filled with stunning color, cozy sweaters and a lot of laughter.
Nature was also having a ‘personal best’ day as well!

These photos were taken at a beautiful place called Squires Valleevue Farm in Hunting Valley, Ohio.   It’s part of Case Western University.  On Sunday, President Obama will be in Hunting Valley for a fundraiser or something. I’m thankful that this meet was not on the same day. The town isn’t all that big…I’m sure it would have been a traffic nightmare.

Preparing for College.

Never in my life could I have imagined that preparing for college (for my child) was going to be so much work.  So now that I’ve got one at the end of the process, I thought I’d post this wonderful website so that any of my readers with teenagers can check it out.  It’s a wealth of information.   Many questions can be answered here at the College Board site.  And a direct link within that site for parent is here.  In this area you can find motivation articles, action plans for Juniors and Seniors, info on colleges…the list goes on.  There’s also a large section for studentswho can receive a lot of answers here!  From SAT questions, preparation, info on colleges, a calendar of what you need to do and WHEN, searching for scholarships, etc etc etc….there’s a lot of stuff here!

Also, an easy AND FREE way to complete FAFSA forms for tuition assistance is here, at the FAFSA site.   Here, you can also create a pin # so that you and your child can complete the forms and sign them using the pin, online.  Good luck and have fun!

My little drama queen

Middle Child had a big weekend!  She was part of the cast in her high school’s production of “The History of Theatre…..Abridged”
She played two roles:  The narrator for A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, and Laura in The Glass Menagerie.

As always she did a wonderful job, as did the entire cast.  In fact when playing ‘Laura’ (a serious scene) I actually thought she was upset and crying.  She plays her role very well!  I love watching her act!
