Take your best guess.

So. It’s Fall Break for Kaylee at college, so she decided to come home for a couple days. Oh, and Fall Break is a fancy way of saying 3 day weekend. So Middle Child got some driving time in as she was the designated chauffeur to get her sister…and earn some credit hours towards getting that all important drivers license. We took the scenic parkway out to the residence hall so it was a lovely trek filled with the beautiful colors of fall. *sigh* (and rarely any other traffic on the parkway *wink wink*)

We loaded up the back of the Jeep with enough laundry to make a small Chinese lady extremely happy and headed for home. I didn’t have to jam my foot into the invisible brake more than 2 or 3 times in rush hour. At one point two absolute dumbass losers pulled out of a shopping center…each in a big pick up….RIGHT IN FRONT of MC and on the wet road were trying to do that dumb trick…drifting. Jerks. When she saw them sliding she thought something like oil or something was on the road and decided to stop right there in the road…in rush hour. By the time we pulled in the driveway I was ready for a big tall pitcher of anything alcoholic.
Kaylee filled us in on the happenings on campus. Swine Flu, Zombie Assassins, The ghost in her room that types on her laptop when they are sleeping. You know. The normal shit. Then I pointed out that one of her fish was dead. It died yesterday but we figured since she’d be home the next day we’d just leave it for her. You know, since we’ve had to clean the tank, feed the fish…blah blah blah….she could skim the lil floater out and give it a proper flush send off.
Right now all three kids are in the basement laughing and eating popcorn, watching a movie. Together. In the same room. Did I mention laughing? It’s very odd, it’s like something out of the Twilight Zone. Ah, I think absence really DOES make the heart grow fonder. I’m taking bets on how long this lasts. It is now Thursday Night…I’ll accept guesses in my comment section on when this bliss will end. She’ll be going back Sunday afternoon. Pick an hour and a day that the first argument will happen. The winner will get nothing. Except of course for being the #1 super duper guesser of good mood depressor.
UPDATE: It’s noon Friday and all’s well!!!
UPDATE: 7pm Saturday and still good! Weeeird. They are like pod-people.
SUNDAY- FINAL UPDATE: 9:45pm Saturday night: Mild 3 minute squabble. lol. Other than that, a wonderfully fight-free (longgg) weekend!

I’m assuming that your other children will be at school today so I’m guessing dinnertime tonight. Since 6 is taken, I’m thinking right after school lets out, say 4 o’clock.

‘zombie assassins’ is a ‘game’ the kids signed up for where it starts with one zombie, and all the rest are humans (participants identified by a bandana). It’s kinda like a big game of ‘tag’ wherein the zombie ‘tags’ a human and the human then becomes a zombie and all the zombies keep the game going. It lasts like 6 days, lol. I hear it’s got something to do with nerf guns as was evident by people running around with them when we picked her up Thursday, lol. Sounds like fun to me. Without the zombie connotation, lol.

Has the fighting started yet? Just kidding. I bet they will all enjoy each other’s company. Just wait until the next break that’s when the real love comes out. PS: Your comment about the invisible brake cracks me up. I think my parents had those too when I was learning how to drive.
