Hi Mom? Guess what I did today!
(Oh Lord, last time I heard this it was tattoo #3) “I’m afraid to ask”
“I went with Cat…to get her nipples pierced for her 18th birthday!”
“Oh. Um…does this mean you want your nipples pierced now?”
“Ewe no….and man she screamed so loud! It was funny! Jazz held one hand & I held the other while they pierced them….It was that real thick, 14 gage metal rod! ….Oh my God she screamed so loud!”
“Well, uh yeah, I’d scream too if I had metal shoved through my nipples.”
What better way is there for 3 girls who just met at college to bond…then to hold their hands as one gets her nipples pierced? *shudder* (That’s my snarkiness coming out)

“The tattoo parlor?”
“No…..guess again”
(I took a couple more guesses…..) “I don’t know where arrrre you?” (afraid of the answer)
“I’m at the ER with Bob, Cole and Cat. Cole passed out and felt sick. He’s on IV’s and morphine for a bad headache. He’s dehydrated and they think he might have the flu. You know…two kids got sent home this week for suspected swine flu.”
“Greeeeat.”
“Don’t worry, I’m Purelling. I promise. I have that huge bottle you gave me.”
“Well, make sure the sick people stay out of your room and you out of theirs. Those dorm rooms are small you know…someone spews and then you’re breathing in their germs. You might as well just lick their nose. And no hugging. Sneeze and cough in your elbow. And breathe through your NOSE…because your nose has those little hairs that filter stuff from the air. And Purell. Oh, and tell Cole I hope he feels better. But for God’s sake…don’t get tooo close when you tell him.”
“Okay, I’ll text him”
“Even better idea. Yeah, text him.”
Update: Tests confirm Cole didn’t have the flu, mono or meningitis. Just a virus. Oh, and Kaylee is sick now. Oh…and the two suspected swine cases? Now are confirmed. Btw, can you tell I’m a germaphobe?

Aside from the whole pain thing, I can’t really imagine flashing my boobs in front of all sorts of people in the piercing studio while they’re getting pierced. Perhaps because I don’t have an eighteen year old’s breasts any longer?
We have a close friend who has both of his nipples pierced. In the summer, Greeley always wanted to rip the little bar-thingies out.

LOL!! College dazes…I mean days!
I just might have to use that “licking nose” comment on my kids. I hate when they drink out of their friends glasses, and have tried to tell them that is like kissing thier friend(hoping to gross them out). Never worked…maybe the nose licking will. Hope they stay well.
I absolutely, positively don’t get nipple piercing. Perhaps the only thing I *get* less is clitoral piercing. Holy mother of god pain. Why do people do that to themselves?

Dorm room living is a worry with germs. Good on the Purrell for sure, I use it 30 times a day. Probably good for pierced nipple recovery too.
