Miscellaneous Musings

100_1549Shane was folding laundry and noticed much of his wash was tinged with PINK.

“Geez, did you have anything RED in with this load?”

“Ooops, sorry”, I said….”Um, we’re celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month?”

Dogs are so smart.  Our Saint loves to be pampered.  Loves hair cuts, getting her nails clipped and her ears cleaned out.  That is, until she had some type of ear infection.  Digging in there getting all the gunk out makes her cringe.  She’s now picked up on the sound of me going into the bathroom, opening the cabinet and…as soon as she hears me grabbing Q-Tips, she ‘hides’ under the computer desk.

It’s so weird to have a kid in college.  She called me once to tell me she wasn’t going to class because she wasn’t feeling well.   And one day when I hadn’t heard from her, I texted her to see what was up….she texted back that her and some friends took a road trip to an amusement park.

It’s very odd not to be the one making the decision to stay home from school….calling in the absence, or being asked if she can go somewhere.  Or to hear that she’s calling in her allergy prescription or to a midnight movie on a school night.

Poor puppus! Ours hates baths and nail trimming, forget it! I have to take her to a vet or groomer.

  4. I agree with you on the college thing. It’s bizarre to have them making decisions like that, especially when they’re doing something you would probably have said no to.

I’m part of the pink laundry club as well. In fact, I have a platinum membership.

And I can’t imagine having a little one in college. I’m definitely not prepared for that. Not that I think I’ll ever be though.

Your doggie is so cute and BIG! It’s amazing how smart those 4-legged creatures are :)

All my children are 6 and under so I won’t have to be worrying about college for many years.

  9. My Oliver hates it too when we clean out his ears. I usually have to pin him in the corner and straddle him with my legs and practically lay on him to get his enormous ears clean. Recently he had a full spa day. Haircut, bath, nail clipping, and ear maintenance. After I was done I needed a nap. Those Saints sure are exhausting to care for!

I love that photo of your Saint “hiding” with her head resting on the chair. So funny, my Oliver is the same way. What funny dogs!
