It’s so cold, it can do this!

We saw this experiment on tv this morning and had to try it for ourselves! We tossed 1 cup of boiling water up into the air (-9 degrees F). Watch this, it’s very cool! (video approx. 9 seconds.)

I don’t know if it froze, evaporated or what you call it. But it certainly wasn’t hot water anymore. lol. This is the most productive day off school we’ve ever had. lol

  4. That is cool, I saw it on the news yesterday, they also had a frozen banana that can hammer a nail into a piece of wood. You should try the bubbles, get a bottle of kids bubble making stuff (yeah I dont know what its officially called) and blow bubbles. Watch them freeze and shatter as you pop them. thank god we can have fun in sub zero weather!!

I don’t have a clue to how cold it needs to be. I just watched people doing it on tv and wanted to do it too. lol (I also follow people off bridges, ha ha)

  8. How neat, it looks like was steam and half turn to ice! Can you believe I am almost semi jealous of your super cold weather. Today in Texas it’s 40 and I think that’s cold.

  10. Wow! That is something else. I’ve never seen that before. So, it froze, right?
When we lived in Wisconsin I think we placed a 2 liter plastic bottle of water out in the middle of winter just to see how long it took to freeze. I think the temperature was below zero and it only took about ten minutes for it to freeze. But I never tried this experiment. I’m sending you some warmth from the California sunshine!
