Shane is a goofball. I made a lovely dish of cauliflower, broccoli, snap peas and zucchini all from our garden. He says:
“What is that big chunky, half circle shaped stuff…Cucumber?”
“Yep, it’s cucumber…from our garden!”
“Oh, it’s good!”
“Thanks!”
*it’s not cucumber. it’s zucchini. but Shane swears he doesn’t like zucchini.* lol
Okay. Now…here’s how to freeze tomatoes very easily. It’s very messy.

That’s how I freeze tomatoes too and it is messy. I recently read that you can just freeze them skin and all but then it would be a pain when they defrosted, wouldn’t it?

Ha Ha, men never know their veggies. I like to freeze my tomatoes whole, and then when I use them, slightly defrost them and peel, it’s super easy, and not very messy. They are also easy to chop while frozen.

Well done! Honest to goodness, it never even occurred to me to freeze tomatoes. Of course, I’ve never grown them, so I’ve never had a surplus, but still. Maybe next year I’ll try a plant or two.

Tomatoes are VERY messy. Not quite as messy as tart cherries, I found out one year, but still messy. This year I roasted my tomatoes (along with onions, garlic and zucchini) in the oven and pureed it into a sauce. That was easy and less messy. Also there are types of tomatoes you can grow that have less seeds inside them and are great for preserving. Romas and San Marzanos for sure and some heirloom varieties…

We had a friend once who said he didn’t like the taste of scallops, so we told him they were actually “tiny rounds of whitefish.” He scarfed them up and asked for more!!
Good on the tomatoes! Ever impressed with you!!

I wanted to can tomatoes this year. I bought all the supplies, but it was such a weird summer here! There are no roma tomatoes to be found! Hopefully next year.

Your tomatoes are gorgeous. Mine didn’t do too well this year… but I’ll remember this for next year.
