It’s Garden Monday at Feet Off The Table!
.
.
The garden is looking better this week. I’ve caught some birds in here. It might be them that have eaten all my NEW cucumber plants from last week. I’ve now started a FOURTH batch from scratch. Bastard birds.
At this rate I might have cucs for Thanksgiving.

Lettuce growing strong! Yea lettuce!

Peas starting to climb. Yea Peas!

Cucs devoured by mean birds. Booooo birds!

You need some bird netting.
Cheap. Easy to use.
No more avian thieves.

I have to say I’m jealous of everything you’ve done here. We can’t have a veggie garden, because the critters eat everything. I suspect bunnies, but I’m told foxes like veggies, too!

I had issues with birds in my tomatoes last year. My strategy of complaining very loudly every time I plucked a half eaten fruit off the vine wasn’t quite as effective as I expected. Your garden is looking lovely though.

I don’t know what they are, but those pretty little pink flowers sure are pretty!
Every summer when I see your garden pictures, I kick myself and think about how this year? This was the year I was going to do a garden. And didn’t. again.
I may have to accept that I like the idea more than I like the work.

Well at least the garden is keeping you occupied. This morning I picked 2 beautiful tomatoes, 3 greens beans (small) and pulled up the squash plant that had grown freakishly large even though they were bug infested and smelled really strange.

I’m having some serious bird issues too! They’ve been eating my strawberries and carrot tops, dang birds! We hung cds up near the plants to try to keep them away, hopefully it works. At least the peas and lettuce are doing well!

Totally unrelated, except that it relates to birds, but how sick am I of the doggamn birds crapping all over my lawn furniture? I would almost plant some cucumbers if it meant I wouldn’t have to clean shit off my patio chairs every. farking. day.

Well done! Love the lavender. Cucs are some of my faves but ours didn’t do well last year either. Bird netting sounds like a plan

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one having trouble with her cucumbers! We have deer to blame. They ate all our lettuce and now our cucumbers and sunflowers. Stupid Bambi.
Right now DH is growing corn which they are not touching, thank goodness! And this weekend he is going to till up the area where the lettuce was and plant pumpkins. I think he is nuts, what are we going to do with bunches of pumpkins? Lots of pumpkin pie!
Your garden looks amazing! Not a weed in sight!

What a difference a week makes! Looking gooooood.
Never heard about bird netting until now — but sounds like a good way to go.
Not sure what those pink flowers are.
