An unexpected gift!

No, I’m not pregnant for heaven’s sake!  lol.  But I was given a very sweet gift that I wanted to tell you about.  Last summer we had a family reunion with relatives that I haven’t seen in like 35 years.  (I was a very very small child)  My second cousins from Texas came up and I enjoyed seeing them considering we were now all adults and we were just kids last time we saw each other.   And now we all have kids of our own.  My Texas cousins are also of Mexican heritage and OMG they made the best authentic mexican food I’ve ever tasted!

Here’s a book that was given to my moms neighbor (while visiting Texas), who in turn gave it to my mom to give to me.  I thought it was especially meaningful that my cousins wrote a message inside for me:
“This is a book that has a recipe for flour tortillas from scratch.  I know it’s one thing on your ‘Bucket List’
Love Your Cousins Rosie & Ricardo”

The recipes are all in Spanish and English so Kaylee and I had fun with that as she’s in her 4th year of Spanish in school.  (I ‘tested’ her by having her translate the recipe titles.)  Some of these recipes look so good, I may just test my skills and try and make some of them!    Thanks to Rosie & Ricardo for an extremely thoughtful gift!
