Okay, so… funny story.  Last week I posted something on my Zen facebook page: (fan me baby, you know I love fans!)

Question of the week:
Why do 16 year old boys each so much cereal? And… anyone know if #generalmills will dump a truckload – you know, like mulch.?

Seriously, this kid eats enough cereal to choke a horse.  I believe parents of teenage boys keep cereal companies in business.  Just sayin.   OKAY ANYHOW….. My FB statuses automatically update to Twitter… and then the funniest thing happened!  I received a tweet from Rebecca at General Mills!  We had a brief conversation and today the UPS guy pulled up with a big box.  I said, “Huh, I didn’t order anything….”, a bit puzzled.  He handed me the box and said, “Well, it’s yours now!”

I noticed the return label and informed my son he had a delivery.  “No way!”,  he yelled as he went to look for the boxcutter.   (Funny that cereal makes my son so happy – strange kid).  Let me just say, it was like a big yummy Christmas in April.  As a mom, I’m stunned that a big company, now-a-days, takes the time anymore to interact with the consumer.    I also think it’s pretty cool that General Mills would seek out tweets mentioning their company.  Oh, and the package came with an actual handwritten note.  I mean an actual handwritten one.  So nice.

As a member of his high school cross country and lacrosse teams, he tends to go for the whole grain cereals and granola bars which is why we tend to buy this brand anyhow.  It was about 45 seconds after these pics were taken that he happily devoured a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.  lol.

Btw, fun fact I learned just now:  Josh Holloway of “Lost” is the next spokesperson for Nature Valley.  He’ll help raise money with General Mills to support our National Parks.   See?  You learned something new today, lol!

p.s. I was in no way asked to review or blog about this.  In fact, I didn’t even mention that I HAD a blog.  General Mills simply was generous.  And, um… yummy.
