Garden Monday

It’s been very hot here, in the high 80′s and 90′s the rest of this week. Not much is new with my garden this week except a few little buds (or whatever they’re called) starting to pop out here and there. My tomatoes? STILL green! My gosh! I think it’s been about a month and they are still green. And even though it looks like I have not watered in the onion pic…I did. 5 minutes before this shot was snapped. That’s how hot it is right now, lol.
I love the look of the water drops on the broccoli leaves. (Yes, my life IS exciting. lol) And, does anyone know if this last pic is a cantelope plant? I planted them here and this is what’s growing. But it could be a weed. I don’t know.

It’s going to get hot here this week. Fortunately, I won’t have to go anywhere, I’ll be laid up with surgery.
Don’t know about the unknown plant.. best way to find out is to, well, wait. And see if any melons develop.

Hey at least you can see your plants. I have to find my carrots among the weeds! Luckily for me it’s raining today so I can procastinate a little more.

I finally have 1 tiny tomato on 1 of the 4 plants we have! The tomatoes are taking forever! Um, I have no idea if that’s a weed or plant, I can never tell the difference.

It’s been hot here too! We actually had to set up our huge sprinkler contraption and water so stuff didn’t start dying on us. My tomatoes have been hanging green for a while now too. They will ripen soon, I promise!

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I actually just pulled all the beans out of the garden tonight. I was tired of them over running the entire garden. It was ridiculous the way their little vines were wrapped around EVERYTHING and growing out of control. I couldn’t tell which vines were with which bean plant so I pulled them all and am done with them. I’m feeling a little guilty now though!! LOL! But the rest of the garden will get a better chance to grow now. Be patient with your tomatoes. I felt the exact same way and now they are ALL turning red and we can’t eat them fast enough. Haha! Can’t wait to see the garden process next week

Garden looks great, yes the tomato’s can takes weeks to ripen and they do like the hot weather so that’s good. Not sure about your cantalope, I’ve never had much luck with them.

mmm… my tomatoes are finally ripening. I have several Yellow Pear Tomatoes that turn yellow each day and some mid-sized yellow tomatoes that are turning red… I don’t know if that is a cantaloupe plant, but I know it’s not a zucchini.

I think that water drops on broccoli leaves make for not only great entertainment, but contemplating their beauty is a sure sign of a peaceful soul who truly treasure what counts — nature!
