Out of the kitchen, into the ground.
Monday Garden Club

It’s Monday Garden Club over at Feet Off the Table!
So I got all the little peat pots into the ground yesterday. *sigh* They just grow up so fast!
I don’t know if you are following my garden, but I did not stick to my planting grid that I worked so hard on. Rather than a bunch of short rows when entering the gate…I did just a couple long rows and really utilized the rows up against the fence. Thanks to all that responded to that grid. And especially all the tips on planting cucs so they climb!! I hope I planted them close enough to the fence to climb. *crossing fingers*
I got a little messed up when it came to planting the broccoli and cabbage. Well, and maybe the lettuce. I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention and realized I wasn’t sure which one was which. So I just planted them and we’ll see who’s who when they grow I guess.
Yeah, so these pics are pretty boring. So here’s a few shots of other stuff growing in my yard…..

Looking good!!
I know what you mean about mixing things up. I mixed up my squash this year. My neighbor told me that’s a problem because they will cross-polinate and create some weird types of squash. Great!

Good idea planting around the fence. Perfect for climbers, especially pole beans. Did you plant pole beans this year? If not and you have room (and like green beans) you should! They do not need to be started ahead of time so the seeds can go directly into the ground and they don’t take up much room since they love to climb up.
Yeah… I mixed up some of my tomato plants one day when I was transplanting them to bigger pots and now I have no idea which is which. Gardening is kind of a surprise like that.

We’ve got a few things in the ground as well! Can’t wait to see what we get!
You’re smart to have started with a good plan. Ours isn’t so well thought out, I’m afraid.

The veggies still have a way to go, but if you do with them what you’ve done with your gorgeous flowers you will have quite a bounty come harvest time.

I love that you worked so hard on that grid and then didn’t even follow it, that sounds like something I would do! My grandma is growing cucumbers in a pot, I had no idea they could climb. Maybe I should let my grandma know, just in case she doesn’t already.

Wait… I didn’t know things could get so complicated. You know, with the cross up plan. And everyone’s saying this is a good thing… The surprise of what you’re gonna get. Is it? I mean, you’re okay with the results no matter the weird results you may get? You know, I guess it’s all about creating something, right, and being so close to the earth and quiet and such. Good times.

Wow, your garden looks great. I tried planting a garden myself but I’m not a huge fan of worms so anytime I saw one I ran to get hubby, lol. Yours looks amazing though.

It’s funny how those detailed plans sometimes make such perfect sense on paper but then when it comes to actually applying it, not so much. It’s going to be great! Just think of all the yummy veggies you’re going to have!

Beautiful flowers! One day I will garden. I refuse to believe that I truly cannot grow things! Right now I’m focused on keeping my mother’s day plant alive! So far so good! I’ve missed you while I’ve been away from the blogosphere!

You gardeners impress me. A lot. I will become a gardener too one day. (Again) I was Mom’s chief helper when I was a kid.
The deer are gonna stand outside there salivating soon, poor things, all deprived of your bounty.
