You know you’re a mom when….you learn to take stuff like this with a grain of salt….
So remember when we were told she was stopping at #3. Um…because she ‘likes even numbers’. Yeah, um…no. When Kaylee came home for Easter break, we were all milling about the kitchen when she starts laughing and says…”Mom, there’s been something I’ve been meaning to tell you….since January.”
“For God’s sake….what? Is it bad?”
“I got another tattoo”.
“What? I thought you were stopping at 3. Where is it?”
“It’s somewhere where no one will ever see it. ”
“Where…on your ass?”
“No”, she says laughing and pulls her hair back….”on the back of my EAR!”
*note: this is an ‘anchor’. Her reason for this choice? So that’s she’ll always be reminded to stay anchored to her core values. I think she just thought it was cute and since she was waiting for a friend to get their own tattoo….she plunked down the $15 for this little guy.

It does seem like a sensitive area to have tattooed, but I think her sentiment is sweet.

My kids threatened to get tattoos when they turned 18. I remember telling my son that it was a great idea and that I’d go with and get one too. Totally changed his mind….

That’s a very neat idea for a tattoo and an interesting place for one! It’s always nice to be able to throw out a reason for getting a tattoo. I have 1 for each of the major relationships I had (3 total) The biggest one I got when I finally realized that DH was the one!

Yeah, I’ve got a bunch of tattoos and they really are one those things that once you get 1 you just want to get more. The best part is that neither of my boys is the least bit interested in ever getting one. But they’re still young.

That’s pretty cute. I like it. My daughter was watching a documentary on the history channel yesterday on tattoos and they had some guy performing eyeball tattoos, apparently it’s a rather tricky procedure where they inject colored ink in to the white of a person’s EYE. Some of the dangers include blindness from eyeball stabbing. There’s a statement, huh? The anchor idea at least has a solid message behind it, other than “I’m stupid and let people with sharp objects near my eyeballs.”
