Livin’ in a Bubble.

So how odd is this? I was watching this program Saturday on The History Channel called The Universe. It was all about mysteries of the universe and what science is learning about it.
There’s the “String Theory” whereas the smallest of particles that make up the core of all matter…are not solid but rather ‘stringlike’ energy…..and they vibrate in different ways. So just like the strings on a guitar vibrate differently thus producing different tones, everything in the universe is made up of ‘strings’ and each energy (or string) in it’s own unique way forms larger particles, which in turn form larger particles (atoms). So the only difference between you and me and a tree is how this mass of strings (energy) vibrate.
Anyhow, I got to thinking that this whole energy/string thing makes sense in the whole spiritual line of thinking. Just a whole lot of energy out there. Everything alive and vibrating. In constant touch with everything else. Simply amazing. Could you seriously imagine what we could do if we were able to see or feel or reach into own deep energy? Wow! It makes me wonder why science and religion are on opposite ends of the spectrum. It would seem to me that they have a lot in common.
Okay, sorry, back to the show. There’s also the “M Theory” or “Membrane Theory” whereas all particles in nature are vibrating membranes and strings. I understand it as, for instance, if you took a big huge bubble blower and blew out some bubbles….the bubble would respresent our universe, or any universe. I guess there are infinite numbers of universes, each in their own ‘bubble’. (Infinite because space is infinite). And inside the bubble there are like wall to wall energies (strings) vibrating all over the place occupying all the space. And these energies form galaxies and planets and people on the planets and trees and bugs and well, everything.
These universes (like bubbles) move and float and bump into each other. Sometimes they smash into each other and just explode, sometimes they touch and make smaller bubbles (universes) They think there are 11 dimensions in the universe. But we don’t see them or perceive them all. They can be right in front of our face, right next to us anywhere at any time, occupying the same space but we are unable to see them because they are in a different dimension. Sort of like when you are in a boat on the water. You can see the water, but you cannot see the fish or the bottom or the seaweed. It’s right there in front of you, but you are not able to see it. Now if you got on top of a mountain, you could look down and see all kinds of layers. The clouds, the sky, the buildings, the ground, the lake.
Now, when these bubbles (universes) collide and form a new bubble (universe) that new universe can be a parallel universe where everything is much the same as the other, or completely different universes where there is no life at all…or any possibility in between. So like I could eat a Panera sandwich in THIS universe and break a tooth, but yet I could eat the same sandwich in the parallel universe, and I don’t break a tooth. So maybe all my bad luck is because I’m stuck in the parallel universe! lol
And then there’s worm holes! Worm holes are areas that connect one universe to another. Like a tunnel. And in theroy IF you knew where a worm hole was…and were able to actually travel in it without burning to a crisp….you could visit other universes. Maybe I got sucked into a worm hole when I wasn’t paying attention and went to the ‘Murphy’s Law Universe”!
OMG! I bet that’s where we’ll all find those missing socks! I bet our dryers are worm holes!

Next time you decide to crawl through one of these worm holes, keep an eye out for my missing socks. Brown with green and orange stripes.
Very interesting by the way. A few weeks back there was a Nova(I think it was Nova) episode on PBS about the Higgs Bozon and the physicists who are trying to discover it. Totally fascinating even if I really don’t know why. Science is so fascinating.

That’s a lot to think about so early. I’m looking for the parallel universe where I’m a size 4 and could eat whatever I wanted. Think it’s possible to find the worm hole that connects me to there? We really are just a small part of this universe. Interesting stuff.

Interestingly, I’m reading a book now about alternate universes. I’m a bit of a sci-fi geek. I’ll bet you’re right about the missing socks, too.

I think you are onto something! Maybe my brain is in that worm hole too. I can’t seem to find it either.

There’s a little extra Sermony type stuff mixed in, but the actual story IS there… all the way to the end.

That’s very interesting. There are so many aspects in this world that are left untapped.
