It’s a good day

So (so far ~wink wink) it’s been a good day! Shane and I took the kids to the polls so that they too could be a part of this historic election. MC ‘voted’ with me and Alan with Shane. I got the last empty booth, Shane had to use a clipboard along with others.
I got to watch my oldest daughter, Kaylee, working the polls. I felt very proud of her and it warmed my heart to see first hand, her involvement in the community. AND we got free Starbuck’s coffee!!!!! Whoooo Hooo! (I’m all hopped up on caffeine!) lol

Yipee! I’m so excited about today. I think history will be made, but I also think that there will be some crazies out there who may not be ready for this kind of history in the making. Cautiously optimistic…

I took a photo of my vote too, but later found out that in New York state (along with a bunch of others) that while it’s legal to take a photo its illegal to publicly post your marked ballot on the internet. Crazy world right? So I removed my photo and replaced it with the polling place marker.

It’s a dumb rule if you ask me. It’s my vote and how come I’m allowed to say “I voted for Obama” but I’m not allowed to show a picture of it?
Anyway, yay for being able to vote and I’m glad your vote is the same as mine!

Wow, this is great stuff. It’s nice when it is a family affair… We went this morning, too, and it was wonderful to be part of history.

How great your whole family involved in the voting process, and gotta love the free coffee. Did they say anything to you about taking pics at the polls?

As enthusiastic as I am about voting, and I am, I am so happy to have this incredibly long election OVER! It will be a long night watching those returns!

I’d totally forgotten about the free coffee! I don’t drink coffee, but I would’ve tried to get some tea instead. Oh well. What counts is that I voted. In the coming years I’ll be bringing my daughter with me, too, so she can get a feel for what it’s like to have this great right to vote.
