A long, ‘spirited’ night.
filed in Politics on Nov.05, 2008
I’m nursing a bit of a hangover due to an argument with someone from the other side of the aisle last night. I had a couple of glasses small bottle of wine because I was completely stunned at the mentality of some people. I actually blogged about it but on the advice of my sober husband, decided not to post it. Based on the uninformed people that surround me and speak in 30 second soundbites from commercials rather than knowledge of facts, I see this Obama Presidency is going to be a tough sell to that mindset.
But, with that said, I feel a renewed sense of hope after the historic election last night. I finally after the last 8 years see some light at the end of the tunnel for our country. I pray that we can recover from this last presidency, globally and at home. It’s going to take a lot of work. But I think it’s finally within reach. I’m so glad that my children have experienced this whole thing, saw the process, learned the facts, and are capable of accepting the differences in opinion on both sides. Unfortunately they’ve also seen the true colors of some of those closest to them. Whether it be fellow students, teachers, family or friends. Sad but reality.
Now, time for another Tylenol.

This election really did bring out the best and worst out of some people. And I was very sad to see some of it.
Like you, I am hopeful for what’s to come

I’m just so glad to see W go, I can’t worry about what people are even saying. I’m thinking about offering to help him pack. Do you guess I could talk him into leaving early?

I’ve already heard a few disparaging remarks myself (being from the south and all) about Obama….
I openly admit he got my vote….because seriously, another 4 years under Republican rule?
I can’t see it.
Obama definitely has his work cut out for him

Well, it was after all, just a SMALL bottle! Reminds me of when Robin says, “yes, I drank the whole bottle but it was a SKINNY bottle!”

Ah – the price you have to pay for a hangover!
Was it worth it?
Think About It – Now – if you drank more often – you wouldn’t have a hangover!
As far as Obama – hah – amazing how his speach included “It may not happen in 1 year…it may not happen in 1 term…” Boy is he leaving himself open for not being able to accomplish ANYTHING!!! Politicians – they are all the same – promises, promises!!! See neither one would make a difference!!!

I’m pretty sure what he meant by that (above comment) in his speech was the fact that he’s going to spend most of his first couple years fixing the absolute complete MESS left by George Bush.
After 8 years of driving this country into the dust, there will be a lot of time spent trying to get us back to good.
