The uninvited house dweller ~ our own Casper!

 Okay, so I told you in a previous post (are you following?) about 1 ‘big secret’ and also about my husband bringing a spirit home from a funeral.  I mentioned that a psychic had called me at home.  Here is the second part of those posts:

So I finally told my kids (2nd big secret) about the psychic calling our house.  She mentioned, without me asking, that there was a ‘spirit’ in my house.  Hummm, I was actually stunned.  Again, I gave no info, I just let HER talk.  She said she sees an elderly woman coming in and out ‘to visit’ now and then.  She also asks if I know of a ‘George’.   George comes in and out to see what we have done new/remodeled in the house.  He comes in every now and then just to see what is happening.  She asked if we had created a new room in the lower level.  He checks out what we are doing.

She asks if we are having problems with plumbing and electrical issues.  I said, “Yes, actually we’ve had issues with both ever since we moved in here”.  She stated that when lights flicker and bulbs burn out (like many at one time) that indicates a presence in the home.  (And oddly just two weeks before, I went through 11 new light bulbs within 3 days ~ but I didn’t confirm any of this with her directly, I just let her speak)

Then she stunned me.  She said, “I’m more concerned with a spirit that stays at your house…Who’s bedroom is…when you look down your hallway…the last bedroom on the right?” 

Me:  That’s my daughters room

(This is Middle Child’s room.  The child I consider the ‘old soul’, the one who is extremely interested in all things of all rhelms.  The one who told me at age3, when we drove past a big blue house on a country road:  “Remember when we used to live in that blue house?  It was the one where the potty was in a little tiny house in the backyard….re-member?”) ~ Again, I’m recalling here…not relating this info to the psychic.

Psychic:  Okay, there is a spirit of a young man in there.  He won’t leave.  He is feeding off of her energy.  When he died he was in his twenties.  You really need to get him out of there, he is causing her harm.  He’s not  dangerous, except for the fact that he needs her energy to stay here.

She Continues:  How old is this child?

Me:  15

Psychic:  Does she suffer from any type of intestinal problems?  Keep to herself more than your other kids? 

At this point I nearly had a heart attack.  My daughter, you see, had been suffering intensely for about 9+ years with horrible stomach pains.   After years of her pediatrician not being able to figure it out and my daughter growing at a slow rate, the doc sent her to the Cleveland Clinic Peds Gastro Dept.   

We went there quite often and spent thousands of dollars on every test you can name including bone scans, MRI’s, endless blood work and charting meals.  She was tested for every disease known to man.  Every single thing came back normal, nodda, zilch.  They couldn’t figure it out.  After a couple years they diagnosed her with chronic constipation.  We knew that wasn’t the problem and the meds they put her on (and said she’d be on the rest of her life), didn’t help. 

Okay, back to the conversation! 

Me:  Yes, actually she has had some stomach issues for a while.  (I didn’t mention is was 9+ years, still wanting to hear what she would say)

Psychic:  Well, she’s had them for a long time….when did you come to this house that you are at now? 

Me:  6 years ago

Psychic:  She brought this spirit with her from the old house….in fact, she may have brought him home from the hospital when she was born!  He’s been with her for many years!

(of couse, I’m almost crapping my pants right now but still not saying much)

Psychic:  I’m telling you, you need to get him out!  This is what I want you to do:
              Get a smudge stick (I already knew what this was), and smudge the whole house thoroughly!     Once  you do that you will notice an immediate change in her health.

(I’m thinking:  Yeah, okay lady!  My kid has been doubled over, crying in pain for like 9 years and you want me to believe it’s because of a ghost?  How much money are you going to want out of this – I’m thinking this, not asking)

Psychic:  If you are still having an issue in a week or two.  Do it again.  If you still have problems, please call me back and I’ll come over and get rid of him for you!  But you must get him out of your house!

Psychic:  Spirits will also affect children’s attitudes and cause them to fight and argue more than normal.  They can also affect the respiratory system.   Does your daughter have any respiratory issues like asthma or   constant colds?

Me:  No, but my other two kids have asthma and are always plugged up.  (They are on allergy prescriptions daily, for many years)

So basically the call ended.  The following day, Middle child got up and was crying on the couch, her stomach again, was in pain.  (As it  was every day since she was just a child)  She was used to it and went to school in pain every day.  This day was no different.  While they were all at school, I smudged the house (which involves lighting the sage and getting it to smoke, walking room to room on every floor, letting the smoke into every nook and cranny, every closet and drawer) 

The kids came home that afternoon and a couple hours later I matter-of-factly asked my daughter how her stomach felt.  She had an odd look on her face.  She said, “Well, actually it hurt really bad this morning and all day, but since I’ve been home it hasn’t hurt at all”.

Hmmmmmm, very very odd.  But, was it a coincidence?  I decided not to mention the psychic OR the smudging OR the spirit.  Instead I began to document what my children were all exhibiting.  No stomach aches AT ALL.  Not a one.  All three of my kids who had been at each other like crazy lately were laughing and I even caught them playing cards one day…and enjoying it. (together!  ~ Now that is spooky!) 

Two weeks in, she woke up with a stomach ache again, a bad one. So when she went to school I smudged again.  And again, the same result.  All of this took place in February of this year.  Within 3 weeks of the first smudging, my daughter was off her medicine (the medicine that I was told she’d be on the rest of her life).  She has an occasional stomach ache but nothing like she experienced for so many years (intensity, frequency).  She’s also intolerant of Soy, so that bothers her stomach…but again, those aches are never as intense, and, they may last an hour but certainly not all day.

So that’s our story.  I know it’s weird.  Shane and I didn’t believe it at first either.  In fact, that’s why we kept track of everything in great detail.  And we never told any of the kids about this until just the other day.  I guess I sorta used them as guinea pigs to see if the smudging actually worked (I didn’t want them to give me false results had they known of what I was doing).

Oh! By the way….I don’t think I mentioned this!  George?   In the beginning of the story?  Ummm….George….is the former (deceased) owner of my current home.  And the ‘new room’ ?  Upon moving in, we made a room in the basement!  I shit you not!

And Middle Child?  The psychic (Mary Ann Winkowski) said that she is ‘susceptible’ to attracting spirits.  She also asked me if she’s used a Ouija Board.  I said yes.  She said, “Tell her to stop it!  She’s inviting things in, like opening a door!  She should NEVER use a Ouija Board.”
