The inconsiderate cereal eater strikes again.

Finally someone feels my pain, lol!   My son’s chore for the last couple years has been cleaning the dishes… so we frequently find little notes like this.    I mean, really…  how hard is it to just dump the leftovers out of your own bowl, people?

Garden Monday FINALLY! lol

It’s Garden Monday over at Feet Off The Table.

The last few months were hectic with the grad party and all. I didn’t think I’d have a garden this year.

The other day I told Shane that I was running out to pick up some groceries, get some starter plants and start a container garden.  By the time I got home, he had the old dirt turned over and almost ready to go!

Either he really does love me… or he totally lied when he said he hates zucchini.

I don’t know how much these bags of dirt weighed but they were a real biznatch to lift into the Jeep.  I asked myself a couple questions when loading these:

1.  Why doesn’t Sears have a guy there to help load this crap?
2.  When was the last time I seriously exercised?
3.  Why am I paying $7 for a bag of dirt?

So I came home and decided I wasn’t lifting those again.   I called for the boy, “Oh boooy…I need your brute strength… come outside”

Me faking a shoulder injury

The boy lifting the bag

Me laughing at said boy.

I got the new dirt worked in, the plants planted and now I’m just waiting for the harvest.
I don’t have nearly as much of a variety as I did last year, but it is what it is.  I’ve got squashes in front with room to grow this year (not enough I know, don’t judge), cucumbers in the back row to grow up the fence, a couple tomatoes, a couple broccoli, and red and yellow peppers.

Check out this sweet little baby bunny!

Look at this cute little guy! Shane was watering the flowerbeds when this fella hopped out!

Look at how tiny he is!   Compare his size to the size of the golf ball, or the garden hose!
Oh! And I’m giving away a set of cool postcards here!    Go hop on over there and enter!
