Miscellaneous Musings
The Great Outdoors

So Shane just completed the biggest putting green he’s ever created.  It’s about 1500 sq. ft and per the customers request, it was built in the woods.   It’s beautiful.  But dang, was he beat after this one!  Three weeks and the last week was in the mid 90′s.    One day he came home.  It was his golf league night.   He got out of his truck and walked like an old man clutching his back.   Covered in dirt and sweat.   “Oh my God, I am soooo sore.  So.  Sore.  There’s no way I’m gonna make it to golf tonight.”

“Oh, that’s too bad,” I said…”you do know tonight is free brat night for the league”

I could see the imaginary scales weighing the idea.   I heard the shower run for a few a minutes.  Within 10 minutes he was running out the door.

Guess that’s a testament to my cooking.

Last week I told you about that big storm that ripped through here.   Our next door neighbor had a couple big limbs come down.   When the storm cleared, the husband and wife came out to survey the damage.  As the husband was dragging a limb off the driveway, the wife came walking over with something huge in her hands….”Oh! Look Eric!  It’s a big ball of FLUFF!”, she said as she gleefully gave the thing a few short and soft squeezes.

I looked over……”That’s……..a squirrels nest”.

She let out a quick screech and through it down.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure this is NOT a cantelope plant.  Now I’m almost certain it’s just a very well cared for weed.   But, we’ll see for another week.  And finally….The whole sha-bang.
