because wiener is just a funny word.

So… if you have a dog, you know they understand many words.  I think we made a list once and our Saint Bernard knows over 100.  Our Golden Retriever recently got a new toy that he absolutely lovessssssss.  He fetches it, catches it, loves it, takes it with him, sleeps with it, and yes… plays with it often.  It was originally a giveaway at an Indians game (hot dogs/baseball –get it?)

On any given day you can hear someone in our house say:

Who loves their wiener?

Drop your wiener!

Gimme that wiener!

Let go of that wiener!

Don’t touch Dublin’s wiener!

Stop licking your wiener!

Go get your wiener!

Don’t bite your wiener!!

and of course in an excited voice, Where’s your wiener Dublin?… Where’s your wiener?

Most of these are followed up with an atta boy, and wiener phrases have kept everyone in the house quite busy and immediately turns the heads of visitors.  He knows the names of all his different toys, so it’s funny to see him run around looking for his wiener.   Ahhh, yes, there’s never a dull moment at my house.  We are very easily amused.

The Cat in the Box.

So.  We went to the vet today.  *sigh*.  Brooklyn, our 11 year old Saint Bernard had a jiggly lump about the size of an egg near her not talked about area.  She’s had it for about 7 months but up until 2 days ago, it was the same color as the rest of her belly and not hot, bleeding, or firm (cancer signs)… so we just watched it.  Watched until 2 days ago when we thought she was starting a cycle.  She wasn’t, it was this “thing” draining.  So off to the vet.

I have to bring a step stool to get her into the back of my Jeep, she’s getting old you know.  She puts her front paws on the stool and waits for me to help hoist her back legs and then she’s able to get in.  She loves the vet.  She gets to sit amongst her fellow four leggers… although it’s really only the cats she actually cares about.  Could have cared less about the 4 dogs walking about in there, she just wanted the cat in the box.

As it turns out she was fine.  Not cancer.  Not a tumor.  Just an infection.  So antibiotics for 2 weeks (ever try giving a dog a pill?).

Turns out she’s just as healthy as ever… not to mention the vet was surprised to see she is still living.  On the way home, she refused to get into the Jeep.  I put her step stool down and she flat out refused.  I spent 20 minutes coaxing.  Pleading.  Nope.  She began to draw a crowd.  Three grown men came over during the course of the 20 minutes and offered their assistance… but when she doesn’t wanna move… she’s not moving.  As a last ditch effort, I opened the passenger door of the front seat and asked, “wanna ride shotgun?”

And, of course she hopped right in.  I, on the other hand was huffing and puffing from the ordeal.  lol

Exercising with a friend

It’s always nice to have an “exercise buddy”… take this one for example… he’s helping to hold Shane’s leg in place as he stretches.
