You know you’re a mom when…
Even in your sleep, you parent.
Scene: Me…fast asleep…in my bed…at 12 something am. Kids up. MC had a friend over.
(whispering)…”Mom?…Mom?….Mom are you up”
(because apparently it looked like I was up….you know…pitch dark…eyes closed….snoring….drool. Yeah… I’m up.)
“What? What’s the matter?
“Can Kristen just sleep over since it’s late so she doesn’t have to drive home…we’ll sleep in the basement”
(ahhhh, the basement. See, the basement is cleaner then her room, which is a pigsty.)
“Yes, she can sleep over in your room which you will have to clean if you want her to sleep over. The rule is….if you want someone to sleepover….you have to clean your room.”
Not exactly the ‘clean’ I was looking for…but LOOK! You can see some of the FLOOR!

It looks like she’s a fan of the Jonas Brothers. Her walls looked like mine did when I was her age. You couldn’t see the paint then either. Although it was pictures of Top Gun and A-Ha.

my daughter use to wake me up to ask for something too but it usually didn’t work. she learned to wake her dad because she would more often get the answer she wanted.

Oh my gosh! I remember whenever I cleaned my room it was an all day affair. One because it was a mess, and two because I stopped to look through everything. Each item was like a long lost treasure.

I don’t think it will take Jack long to figure out that Daddy’s gonna be the sucker who won’t really wake but will probably say, “What? I’m awake” and then “Okay” to whatever is asked. LOL!
