So I bought a new treadmill knick knack to dust. Actually…..let me say these are a bitch to assemble. I got a good mental workout. Alan helped me… and it was just like having Shane there helping me. Only Alan’s patience level is better….about 45 seconds. Whereas Shane’s is at about 30.
So anywayzzz…I tried it out. I started on 2 mph. Not bad, not bad. Then 4 mph. Holy crap!
I’m pretty sure anything over that might kill me so I’m not attempting that ever anytime soon. I can imagine myself flying off the back of this thing and smacking myself into the wall. I can see the police chalk line up there now. And the kids coming home and crying….”Who’s gonna make us dinner now!….”Who’s gonna clean the toilet now?” Waaa, waaaa.
How on EARTH do those people on Biggest Loser run on 9 or 10 mph? HOW? That’s insanity, people!
So okay, back to me. LOL! I spent 4 minutes on it and called it a night. I sweated my arse off and burned only 42.1 calories. Is that right? That cannot be right.
I told Alan that I’m gonna do a little more each day and work myself up. You know what he said? “Work yourself up to what? 8 minutes?”
Little snot. lol.

We have a large knick knack in our basement, too. Its the kind that has pedals and a seat. My husband will not get rid of it, but only rides it twice a year. I hate it.
My meager exercising advice: Start slow and work your way up. 3.2 miles an hour for 10 minutes and inch up speed and time. You don’t need to go 4 mph and certainly not 9 or 10. And it really isn’t about how many calories you burn. Its about building muscle and cardio effect.

I seem to go in spurts with exercise. Yeah, I know, not the best way to approach it but whatever. I have a treadmill. It’s a really good gym quality treadmill (that I got for free!) that I refuse to ever get rid of. It’s the friend who is always there whenever the inspiration hits me.

I bought an eliptical a couple of years ago. I was really good about it for awhile and then not so much. When we moved it did not come with us. And hey, 10 min. on a treadmill is a total fair goal! Good luck!
