WELLL HELLOOO!
I’ve been offline for a few days. Lucky me! Just one more reason why I don’t like At&t. See…I ported my home phone number over to it’s own cell phone to save $$. When I called At&t to see if I’d still be able to get my internet…they said…‘Of course!’. What they failed to tell me was that I’d have to set up a new account in their system and schedule a guy to come out.
So the other day I went online and then bam! Nothing. I called At&t and they assured me the number porting was NOT the problem. They said it was my Linksys router. So I called Linksys India —- 3 times– for a total of 4 hours. And was charged $29.99 to end up with (still) no fix. Why? Because it was on At&ts end. (I’m getting a credit)….After 5 hours I finally talked to someone at the phone company and they said…’Oh…the problem is the porting of the number screwed 
up your internet service.’. D U H. And then she scheduled a tech to come out and fix the issue. Two days of no internet.
The following morning our car battery died.
The good news in all this? I had a lot of down time to learn how to replace my own car battery. My first time and I did it!
But lo and behold. This morning the kids went off to school with the battery light lit on the dash. “It’ll be fine…just get in the car and go”. Turns out…I was w-wrong. The alternator is not working now. lol. Luckily they putted home (with no radio God forbid!) and made it to the mechanics. Guess who’s driving to school in the morning?
Oh, and the IRONY…..the At&t guy came today. lol. He spent 4 hours trying to get the new system to work. He finally found the problem in a shoddy phone wire in the house. HA HA HA HA. Karma At&t. Karma.

yes loss of internet has happened here too offten in this month alone. but the guy came yesterday and he thinks it’s really fixed (cross fingers)

Welcome back! I missed you desperately…and even almost cried. It’s true!
The last time we had internet issues was when we moved into our current rental a year ago. We were without internet for over a week…it might have been two. Things were so screwed up. I’m a little nervous about the move in June. It sucks going without internet.

I had almost the exact same problem with AT&T! I spent days (yes, DAYS) fighting with them, we had no internet for like a week! They drive me nuts! All because we cancelled our phone line and they didn’t tell us we needed to open a new account and then no one could figure out why we didn’t have any internet. They tried blaming the router too! GAh!
When we moved this summer we went with comcast instead for internet, a choice we didn’t have before because we lived in the boonies. We have our home # through T-mobile.

whew…you have had quite the adventure…car problems i can handle..no internet would probably push me over the edge…lol.
Don’t you hate when you know the problem and other people tell you that your wrong? Why’d you spend so much for tech support? You could have gotten a new router for that amount.

I could write a book about all the problems we’ve had with the phone company. I HATE them. Although one time they sent out a crazy hot repair guy. Think taller, cuter version of Henry Rollins, including all the tats. Honest to god, I was stammering when I was talking to him.

Dealing with these big companies is a nightmare – I hate it because everything always has to be so complicated!
geez… I hate days like these. I had problems with my phone recently…long miserable story short…problem never resolved. aarrrrgg. And no credit. Hang in there.
