Finally, after how many years? We’ve got an OWL living in our
owl house! I suppose Jimmy O. Possum got evicted! (pictured below — remember him?) 
At the point this owl photo was taken, this little fella had been sleeping in this position for over 2 hours. I had a dilemma…go out side to take the photo and risk scaring him and he’d come screeching after me and peck my eyes out never come back…or….go out and get a great shot for my blog. Dang it.
I snuck up on it and snapped a couple pics. He slept through the whole photo sh-hoot, sh-hoot!
We did get to catch him flying (um, because I sat there for another hour waiting! OMG my neck was so sore!) onto the branch of that tree and then position himself in a cluster of pine where he sat and stared at the ground below….hunting! Although it was too snowy and no little birds came for him to have lunch ‘with’….but do you know that owl sat there for THREE HOURS!

We used to have a big owl living in our huge willow tree for couple years. It was so cool to watch him. Few times I caught him when he was going out partying for the night.

What a great photo!!! Like a previous commenter, I too, didn’t know they made owl houses. We just might have to get one of those because we live in a rather rural area.

Yep, they make owl houses, but we made this one ourselves with directions through googling.
That’s so cool. We have a few owls living in the woods by our house. Last summer we spied on in a tree, but he left after The Dudes started yelling “Hoooot! Hoooot!” at him. They have a funny way of driving things away from here. Like my sanity. Hasn’t been seen in years.

Oh yes! I heard his hoot! But…I was told I was crazy and it was a mourning dove. Hmmmm. Guess not! (that was before we knew the owl was there) lol

Our friends have an owl at their ranch and we found a family of owls up in a tree at cub scout camp..they are amazing.

lol, yes, my computer faces the window and I have a great shot of the owl house, lol. BUT….for the hour that he was out of the box…I did sit there at the window. That’s how my neck got sore. It was a room with a high window that I had to get on my tip toes to look out, ha ha .
WOW! 3 hours for food. And I moan over a 10-minute line at the check-out.
He’s soooooooo cute, tho.
