I spent 5 hrs yesterday finalizing all our tax returns including making copies.  The kids came home early from school.  No…not because of the snow but because of yet ANOTHER teacher meeting day or some such bullcrap.   I shoveled twice, used the snow blower once.   The wind was whipping and I pretty much ended up frozen and snow covered on one side of my body.   It was awesome.    I came inside to find the fire dying and the wood bin empty.   (Wouldn’t ya know it?)

I trekked out to the snow pile but first had to shove a path to it…through a foot of heavy wet snow.   I slipped on Shane’s shoes instead of putting on boots….so I ended up with very wet feet.  It was great fun.   I made a couple trips…and damn if those logs don’t seem to get heavier as you load them.   We’ve got a log carrier that holds about 6 good sized logs…but…if you stuff in like 10 and just huff and puff and complain and put a lot of strain on your back?….you can fill the wood bins much faster.   Anyone watching me would think they’re seeing The Hunchback of Notre Dame….foot drag and all.

Alan let the dogs inside and Brooklyn (The Saint Bernard) was literally covered in mud up the legs.  Where this dog found mud in the frozen backyard is beyond me. But….she did.  And of course, we didn’t realize it until she came prancing in and got the carpeting all muddy.   It was great.   Try getting a 150 lb. dog to get out of the room when she doesn’t feel like it.   Not easy.

So then I had to get the steam cleaner out and wash the carpets.   Got all the mud up and emptied the cleaner contents into the toilet…where…it dropped, hit the toilet seat and splattered all over the toilet and wall.   So then I had to clean the bathroom.   The cleaner then needs to be cleaned out, so I did that in the tub….which…got clogged.   So I spent 20 minutes plunging the drain.   It was great fun.

But then….this came in the mail and made me smile:

I won this the other day over at The B Keeps Us Honest !

Ahhh, but then…this morning came.    The kids left for school and 2 minutes later I received a text.
Damn those city plow drivers!  This is THREE years in a row!   UGHHHH!  Look where it’s at!  This on top about 18 inches of snow!   Wet feet again today! I don’t think I have anything long enough to fish it out of there without trudging through this mess.

Unlesssss….maybe my Mayor’s genitals can reach this!
