I don’t know about you…but here one of our news channels will TEXT the school closings to your cell phone. So the kids signed up for this. Because, seriously, why walk to the television to watch the scrolling list when you can lay in bed and get a text?
I want to know WHO’S idea this was, damn it. I suppose the days of leaving them in front of the school and then not answering their phone calls all day is just NOT gonna work anymore. Bastards!

So the kids started back to school this week. With the exception of Kaylee who’ll grace us with her presence for yet another few days. For the most part it went pretty well with their attitudes. You know…they love each other one minute and the next I’m ready to gouge my frickin eyes out with a fork and rip the drums from my ears to silence the bickering. It’s been good times this break. Good times.

Isn’t it funny how you can train a dog to bring in your newspaper, but you can’t train a grown man to put his dishes in the dishwasher?
I'm Sheila. In addition to raising 1 husband and 3 teens, I've founded

I do very agree with your 3rd sucsection (raising a husband). *LOL*

The key to training men is to give us an award! I could think of a few things that you could do that would get me to put the dishes away!! Remember, we are very simple creatures! LOL!

Um yeah, somewhat. lol. Actually it gets a LOT better. I think when I hear the squabbling, it immediately takes me back to ‘worse’ days and it just resonates throughout me. But yes, it DOES get much better.
If you figure out how to get your husband to put his dishes in the dishwasher you let me know. I’m like, if the furthest you can take them is the sink, would you at least rinse them? All it takes is turning on the faucet for a second. Not really a big effort. Easy peasy. Nope.

A dog is more allowing,
A man is more creative,
it is a matter of apples and oranges,
you need them both for different reasons!
A grown man bring home money, which you can use to hire a housekeeper..:)
witty questions!

My kids’ school sends out a robo-call which has actually saved my ass a few times when they send the kids home early or have a delayed start.
I swear I grew gray hairs the last few weeks from the kids fighting and whining. The weather has been too darn cold to send them outside and lock the door.
Where do these men come from? Mine will clean up and put away all of dinner but refuses to load the dishwasher, like he thinks it’s going to swallow him whole if he opens the door.

My favorite was the honesty that was displayed in your first few paragraphs. LOL!!!
About the hubby thing: mine thoughtfully suggested that I unload the dishwasher first thing in the morning, so everyone can rinse their plates and put them away… right?
Uh hmmm, I think he’s done the dishes a grand total of 5 times in the last 3 years… and when the dishwasher is empty? NOPE still goes on the counter… just sayin’ AMEN!
