With the release of NEW MOON (Twilight’s 2nd movie, in case you live in a cave) was released yesterday. My daughters had to go to the midnight showing. Because, let’s face it…life would really r e a l l y suck if they didn’t. (for me.) So I broke down and ordered the tickets far in advance. They ate dinner and took a long nap in preparation for the big night. (one rule was that those who had school in the morning….better get their asses out of bed on time…4 hours of sleep or not.)
They got to the theater a few hours early. You know, so they could wait in line. Play cards. Swoon with other young girls. *sigggh*

(but I did get to use my daughters laptop while she was out! Mine is still dead.)

Oh hell! I would have liked to be at a show last night but am smart enough to not subject myself to that many squeals from young girls.

I’m not into vampires so I haven’t gotten into the hype. I’m glad that kids are reading but I think there are better quality stories out there that don’t involve blood sucking characters. Just my opinion.

Team Rat’s ass as well…but my daughter was also one of those midnight have-to-be’s that went out in the yuck and muck last night to view the first showing…not to mention having the ability to text and torture her friends on the West Coast since she was seeing it 3 hours ahead of them, goota love it! I’m more interested in how this stuff got to be such big *media events*–I can’t think of any equivalent media hoopla while I was growing up. Maybe the time I went to see David Cassidy, when I got up at 6am and waited outside all day in line, LOL. Still, it wasn’t covered in the media the way fandoms like Harry Potter and Twilight are today.
Worthy of some in-depth analysis, but I am just too exhausted right now, LOL.

Technically I’m with you. I am not a fangirl. I like my celebrity crushes to be full-grown men {hello Clive Owen} However, if I was forced to choose it would be Edward. That Jacob is just way too much of a pretty boy. Both of them are far too young though!
