Shane has experienced a LOT of things in his years as a window cleaner…..naked people when washing hotel room windows….getting stung by bees and having nowhere to go….But here’s a weird one. He was cleaning windows at a jewelry store (a customer we’ve had for about 12 years). The lady asked him to do the tops of the display cases. As he ran his sponge over the top of one…he felt a slight drag…..picked up the sponge and about 7 small diamonds fell out!
The lady laughs and says….’Oh…I’m sorry, I thought I got all those off there already!’ Then she looks at the tiny sparkling gems of goodness and says….”Okay, that looks like all of them”.
Shane gives his sponge a gentle shake and out pops one more! He says, “I can just leave this sponge here just in case there’s anything else hiding in there.”
“No, she says….that looks like all of them”.
*blink*
Okay…gotta go….um…I have to go inspect a sponge.
OH WAIT, lol….Aloha Friday….
My Question: If you found diamonds in the sponge…would you give them back?
My answer: “Yes! I would have touched them gently for a while, then returned them. Karma is a bitch”
(footnote: I stuck my fingers in every crevice of that sponge…no diamonds. *sigh*)

Yep, karma is a bitch & yep, I’d have probably done the same thing as you. I definitely couldn’t have kept them but just “loving” them for a second wouldn’t have hurt, right?

Wow! I can’t believe the owners aren’t more careful with the diamonds! If I were in that exact situation, I’d give them back, assuming the missing diamonds would eventually be noticed and leave me suspect… I’d like to volunteer to vaccuum for them, though!

Right now it would be really tempting to keep them, but yes, I would have to give them back. I’m missing a diamond ring right now, and it’s breaking my heart as my husband gave it to me for my anniversary a couple years ago. If someone found it, I would want them to give it back!
