Isn’t this little guy cool? He’s a Hummingbird Moth. They buzz around like hummingbirds and flutter their wings like hummingbirds and they even feed off flowers in mid air while flapping their wings like hummingbirds.
But….it’s a MOTH!

Wow! I just went and google this thing to see more photos. It is so strange and beautiful. I am normally scared of moths, but these moths are so beautiful. Up close they don’t look too much like a bird, but in a lot of photos they do. So cool that you saw one. Happy WW!

My ex’s Mom and I once spent a week trying to figure out if the visitor in her garden was a hummingbird or a bug. Until we counted the legs. Because hummingbirds don’t have six legs. One of those moments where we both felt less than brilliant. They are the most beautiful bug I’ve ever seen, up there with the Luna moth.
