The best job EVER

Weatherperson.
Best.
Job.
EVER!

I mean…what other job on earth is there where you only have to be right 50% of the time but still get paid 100% of your salary?   (I mean, besides psychic or congressman).   Yup, weatherman… that’s one sweet gig.  Let’s take yesterday for instance.  Alllll week long YESTERDAY was hyped up and dangled in front of our noses like a big huge carrot dripping with sweet sweet milk chocolate and colored sprinkles!   Ohhhhhh, the temps were FINALLY going to be a bit warmer!  90+ degrees in fact!  Whooo hooo!  That means swimming…soaking in the sun…maybe a night time fire to roast s’mores.   Mmmmmm.

Let’s just say they were a bit off.  Nearly 30 degrees off.  The high?  67.   Last time I checked, that’s nowhere near 90.  That’s pack up the swimsuit weather.   Carve the pumpkin weather.   And rain.  I woke up at 6:15am.   Drizzle.   Rained all day til bedtime.   I pretty much sat around all day watching movies with the kids.  Glancing outside at the rain.   *sigh*

Call me crazy but with all the expensive radar these forecasters have access to…you mean to tell me they can’t tell the difference between the sun and rain?  Between 90 and 67?   I don’t know about you but our local channels boast about their radars….‘most accurate weather forecast’….‘the only forecast you can count on’.   Right. I can count on one hand how many accurate forecasts they’ve given in the last 3 months.   And why on God’s green earth do they bother giving 10 day forecasts?   What a pile of crap.  For God’s sake, they can’t get it right the night before…why try and do 10 days?

Well, let’s see…it may be sunny tomorrow…if not, it could be cloudy. If it’s cloudy, it could rain. Unless it doesn’t. We should hit a high of about 65-90.   (Good grief.)

Yup!  Best. Job. Ever.

  1. Well ours do a fine job. Ok so maybe that’s not entirely true. If they say 20 per cent change of rain…it will. If they say hot they mean over 100 and that is usually, so far this summer, been true but last week they said “cold front”. Hum that was interesting a cold front in south Texas in August…burr it was cold, so cold in fact that I wore underwear just to stay warm enough not to freeze in the 90 degree coldness. I’m still shivering. Geeze someone toss me a snuggie for Pete’s sake

  6. And yet, we trust these same guys to make predictions about “climate change.” Am I the only one that thinks that’s kind of crazy?
