Middle Child and I were practicing driving and I mentioned she should be farther behind the car ahead of her, because she’s young….and so are her reflex’s. (Her driving has been more comforting lately, btw) Until that is, she spoke this statement:
“Don’t worry mom…I’ve got stealth reflex’s…Reflex’s like a NINJA….Wuahhha”
(and then nearly missed the red light)
*blink*

I finally figured it out! Driving with teens is EXACTLY like the end of the ride on a rollercoaster! You know…when you pull into the station and your going really fast…then you come to a lonnnnng stop….get thrown back a moment…and then you lunge forward. Yup. Just like that.

My brakes have been feeling weird for a little whilethe past 6 months. Grinding or something. Rough stops. I knew it was time to take the Jeep in for a check up when Middle Child, who’s driven about a total of 10 HOURS in her LIFE…got in and said, “Oooo, your brakes feel horrible mom!”

Diagnosis? Less than 20% left on the back brakes. Rotors shot.
WHO KNEW?
(btw, MC gave me permission to use this photo since she has big glasses on and is not actually revealing herself on my blog. Just so ya know.
Oh, and MC is the brown haired one.)
I'm Sheila. In addition to raising 1 husband and 3 teens, I've founded

Man that sounds scary. And I was thinking if mine could just get the pee in the potty parenting would be smooth sailing from here on out…
I agree with Mozi Esmes Mommy. I am not looking forward to my kids learning how to drive. Mostly because I remember when I was a teenager and was learning how to drive. I think I got on my dad’s nerves.

She’s going to be a great driver, Sheila! I love the shades, and how sweet of her to grant you permission to post her pic. Just please don’t tell my kids they have a choice, I’d have nothing left to blog about. LOL!

Oh Sheila, you know I feel your pain! My girls are less than 2 months away from being “real” drivers, meaning without dad or I in the passenger seat…..yikes!
Oddly enough we just had the brakes replaced on what is now “the Honda” but will soon be their “car” to share. They fuss they have to share it,but dear lord, it’s expensive enough with adding them to the insurance, four cars is simply not an option at this time.
I joke that I get grayer each time I ride with them.
