But the dog did ruin my homework!

maviefolle-4561I told the dog to ‘come here!’ so she decided to take off and ‘hide’ from me….right smack on top of Middle Child who was sprawled out on the floor doing her homework.  Actually, she purposefully picked this particular spot because the dogs wouldn’t be in her way.

She asked me to take this pic to show to her French teacher.  It’s a good visual when describing ‘the dog ruined my homework’.   (and will be useful in explaining to the English teacher, why the front of her notebook ripped off)

  2. Does your doggie eat socks? Mine eats socks. And will happily devour any stray bits of homework that were unwise enough to be walking around. :)

  5. I also have a sock eating dog (like Barbara Ling that also posted). A sock eating dog that is lacking 32″ of intestine b/c they don’t pass very well & he’s needed 2 emergency surgeries to remove them from his body. Ding dong. I love the pic, though! Your daughter is a smart girl for wanting evidence!

  6. I sometimes think that Saints don’t realize how big they really are. Mine likes to think he can ride in the front seat of the car. At 140 pounds, I don’t think so. So cute though!

  13. Sheila, I majored in French! Tell Middle Child to write this… “Je suis desolee, Madame Professeur, mais le chien a mange mes devoirs. Il les a completement detruits!” (And make sure you’ve got the accent “aigue” over the second-to-last e in desolee and again over the e in mange. And there should be an accent “grave” overr the first e in completement.

Translation, so you know I’m not telling her anything naughty is simply ” I’m sorry, Teacher, but the dog ate my homework. He completely destroyed it.”

Those French – it’s like they have a different word for everything?! (Remember Steve Martin saying that?)

As to mothballs….. May I suggest instead those neat little cedar hanger things? They do the same moth trick, with a much much more (in my umble opinion,) pleasant smell. And my hubby says when the smell rubs off, just take a little sandpaper to release more. Available at Home Depot, Lowe’s etc. (I am not being paid for this comment.)
