Wordless Wednesday

Okay, so does anyone have any clue to what this is?  Is it a rock?  Is it glass of some sort?  We found this in a creek last summer.  It appears to be some sort of half polished rock.  Possibly glass, but not smooth.  I’ve emailed the pic to a couple geologists and never heard back.  Guess it’s nothing ‘spectacular’ or they’d be knocking down my door!  lol

Sheila, question… what is that blog you gave a shout out too some time ago?… Like “Glass Half Full” or something like that?

  7. I’m intrigued…what is creek bacon? I have no idea what it is. I would tell my son, who collects rocks, that it’s a piece of amber with a fossil in it. He’d be trying to crack it open.

  15. Nice find. I’d have no idea what it was either, although I don’t think petrified turd would be accurate, it would be less transparent. ;-) Happy Wednesday.

  16. It does look a lot like Amber or maybe a large piece of glass that has been softened by years in the water. It’s pretty neat!

  17. Oh, and regarding your comment on the diet. There are 2 reasons I’m doing it. 1)I actually am looking to lose a couple of pounds. I’m not over weight, but I’m currently at 130 lbs and I’m most happy at 120. Only 10 lbs so it’s not too big of a deal. 2)I want to support my husband and friends that are also doing the program with me. Hubby wants to lose around 30 lbs, my girlfriend wants to lose 50, and my other friend is looking to lose around 20…. we all spend so much time together (the friends live next door) and eat so many meals together that it wouldn’t be fair for me not to follow along. Aside from the 9 day detox, the rest of it is just very sound, healthy foods.

  18. I’ve seen cave bacon, so perhaps creek bacon could exist.

My first idea was ambergris, the really valuable stuff from whales guts, but unless a whale found his or her way up your creek and puked, I’d go for the creek bacon idea.

  21. whatever it is I think it looks really pretty!
