Um, are you serious?

Okay, so you know my dishwasher has been broken since around Christmas.  I finally got a repair guy from Sears (under warranty) scheduled to come out.  Sears has the WORST customer service EVER.   The appointment was set for Tuesday between 1-5.  At 4:30 I’m thinking, ‘Do I have the right day?’.  I call service.  “Yes, he is leaving his prior appointment and is on his way”.

7pm.  No call.  No show.  Arghhhh!  Call service.  “Everyone left for the day”

What?  Huh? Are you serious right now people?  They tell me they’ve put me in the following morning between 8-12.

Next day 12:30pm.  I call service.  “He’s not here and hasn’t called”.   (Now told the appointment changed to 8-5pm.)

5pm.  Service calls ME.  “Yeah, paperwork just crossed my desk  that you need a morning appointment?”

“What?   Someone was supposed to BE HERE this morning.   You mean to tell me that no one is coming after I waited 6 hours yesterday and NINE hours today?”

“Sorry ma’am.  Everyone is gone for the day.  I can schedule you in….2 weeks.  I have a morning open in 2 weeks.  We’re completely booked right now.”

Okay folks, let’s just say that uh, that didn’t fly.  I went off.  Asked for the supervisor.  In short, I got scheduled for the following morning.  The guy shows up at 7:45am.  Opens the dishwasher and immediately says, “OH!  There’s your problem right there!”  (while pointing to the ‘float’).  It was ‘up’ instead of down…so that the sensor thought the washer was full of water and wouldn’t draw any more in.  With one finger, he pushed it down a little.       OH.  MY.  GOD.

Repair guy left about 30 seconds after he arrived.

  3. How annoying! I used to work at a Sears center that made repair appointments for all over the country. Don’t judge! I did it to work my way through college. Anyway, worst job ever! Got so many angry calls.

  8. I feel your pain and frustration. We had an issue with our dishwasher. No issues with the appointment but the whole fix took less than 5 minutes and cost us $100 for a zip tie! Yup. At least you’re not washing dishes by hand anymore.
