Okay, this is just gross. I’m sure every one’s heard by now about the latest salmonella outbreak, this time in peanut butter products. Gross. But did you know that you should not only get rid of any of those products that people eat…but also any products that may contain peanut products in your PET FOOD? Yep! Check your treat boxes, cans, bags, whatever. And pitch it!
I just heard that although your pet might not display any symptoms other than runny poo or bloody stools, they can still spread, yes SPREAD salmonella! Eweeee. Little Sam and Ella’s can live in your pets STOOL for 4 WEEKS! Four! So if they are not potty trained or happen to track some into the home and someone…for instance a child…is crawling on the carpet and happens to put there hand in an area that the dog was on….and puts their hand in their mouth…BINGO! How nasty is that? Even if you clean the area, the salmonella can still survive.
And if you give your pet a treat that happens to have the samonella? And then make yourself a sandwich? Well, you get the idea.

That is gross! Fortunately we do not have a dog. But do you know if they use peanuts in cat food? Thank you for sharing this. I wasn’t aware.
What about if I’m trying to lose weight? Shouldn’t I eat all the tainted peanut butter I can AND have the dog lick my face a few million times? I mean, vomiting uncontrollaby and explosive diarrhea has to count for something right?

Eww. Ick. This is precisely why I go crazy when people try to wear their shoes in my house. I have these images of my little boy innocently playing in the floor and picking up the nastiest stuff off of someone’s shoes. And the dog going to the bathroom in the backyard and tracking stuff in?
