All I’ve got to say is THANK GOD 2008 IS OVER WITH!
Normally we’d ring the New Year in by taking the kids out to eat and to see a movie, but this year we didn’t. After spending $326. on the truck yesterday (thankfully our extended warranty covered the other $700), we decided that we were more in line for homemade pizzas and pay-per-view. (lol. ) And that worked out good for the girls because Kaylee wanted to go out with her girlfriends to ring in 09. They went to Applebees. I can’t believe she’s like all grown up now. She dressed nicely and even wore a coat. (That part warmed my heart, as usually she trounces out of here in hoodie). And, MC had a ‘murder mystery’ sleep-over birthday party at a friends house. Ahhh, remember those glorious days when you were old enough to go somewhere with your friends on New Years Eve? How exciting!!!
So….It was just Shane and I and the boy. (Who is now my favorite child because he single handedly helped me take down the tree and all the decorations! ~ In fact, when he was done, he said, “Well…okay! There’s no longer any sign of Christmas in this house.”) My goal was to be done with anything lingering from 08.
We watched the movie Tropic Thunder……Ummmm, If I had a buck for every time they said the word ’fuck’ in the movie, I could put my kids through college with ease. O-M-G. Fucking insane. lol. With the exception of one (possibly two) parts, I can say that watching it with my son wasn’t tooooo bad. It’s not like at 14 he’s never heard the word ‘fuck’ before. And the movie was pretty good. Lot’s of stars in there. Plus, I love Ben Stiller.
And as a little humor we rearranged our reindeer. Now it looks like one is humping the other. (the one in the rear moves up & down…lol). Couldn’t resist giving all our older neighbors something to talk about.
Happy New Year Everyone! And in the spirit of the movie Tropic Thunder? Fuck you 2008.
To everyone else….Here’s hoping that 2009 brings better times for all of us. I wish you all a prosperous new year in health, happiness and business.
I'm Sheila. In addition to raising 1 husband and 3 teens, I've founded

Mischievous reindeer … Ha ha!
Wishing you wonderful blessings all throughout the new year.

Happy New Year! I actually prefer staying in, so a PPV sounds much better. As far as Tropic Thunder goes…my husband and I tried to watch it and ended up shutting it off after 15 minutes. It was out of control with the cussing and other things. We couldn’t hack it. You must be more of a pro than us.

I join you in sending a hearty F.U. to 2008. Fer real. I’m a Ben Stiller fan too but still haven’t been able to catch Tropic Thunder, maybe this week, it’s on my Blockbuster mail queue. My 14 year old is always quick to remind me whenever we let an expletive slip, or if there’s off color language in a movie, that she’s exposed to much worse as a middle school student. Indeed. Here’s to a happy, healthy, and incident free 2009.

First – Happy New Year!!!!!!! Hope this year is great for you and don’t forget to keep the laughter going!!
Second – how could your son grow up in YOUR household and not hear the word Fuck?? I mean, REALLY. I think I heard the F-word the minute after I shot out of the womb. And growing up, I never used it. Well, unless I wanted soap in my mouth. And my mother was a master with the soap….when she used a bar, she’d make us bite down on it and then pull it out, dragging it on our teeth. Or….the new trick she learned was to squirt dishwashing liquid right on our tongue. THAT was a tasty treat. It took FOREVER to wash that out of your mouth – no matter how many times you rinsed, your mouth would fill with bubbles…it was like you could never get that thin film off your tongue!
Nasty.

As far as Tropic Thunder I have not seen that one yet. I cannot even imagine my son being 14yrs and it is only a few years away, he sounds like a really sweet kid!

Love the reindeer! Love Ben Stiller too.
A child with a coat? Wow, so that may one day happen voluntarily for my child too? That’ll be cool. Or warm.
Happy second day of 2009!

That is funny. I’ve never seen the movie Tropic Thunder and now that you gave me the heads up on all the swearing I don’t think I want to see it. I also hope that you have a happy and prosperous New Year. I agree with you. I am so, so , SO happy that 2008 is over. It was not a good year for us.
Have A Great New Year!!!!!!
